Biography

Dr. Pino's research interests include quality projects to prevent catheter associated bloodstream infections, as well as participation in the Children's Hospital Association's Improving Pediatric Sepsis Outcomes (IPSO) collaborative. He is also involved in studies looking at the use of machine learning logic to predict sepsis and provide early warning alerts thereby leading to institution of early interventions. In addition to his roles at Marshall Health and the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Dr. Pino serves as medical director for Hoops Family Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital and chief medical information officer for Marshall Health Network.
