The Department of Internal Medicine provides quality medical care for adults year after year. Internal Medicine physicians are generalists or specialists. Our physicians who are generalists are primary care physicians for continuing medical care. Our specialists treat patients with a variety of health conditions, including lung disease, arthritis, diabetes and thyroid disease, other endocrine diseases, infectious diseases, kidney diseases and cancer, blood disorders, and gastrointestinal and liver diseases. We also have physicians who specialize in Geriatrics, which includes care specifically aimed at an older age group.
We have special centers to improve education and care for specific patients. These include a Geriatric Center (Hanshaw Center), which includes a Dementia Evaluation Center and a Driving Assessment Program, and a Diabetes Center (Chertow Center) with certified diabetes educators and a dietitian. Other special services include Sleep Medicine Services, a Comprehensive Lung Nodule Program, and advanced GI Services in ERCP / EUS / Motility disorders.
Marshall Internal Medicine provides walk-in care Monday through Friday for the patients enrolled in our practice. Patients can visit the office for those medical problems that are severe, but not severe enough for the emergency room, in order to provide needed care and spare patients unnecessary expenses and long waits for their immediate care.
